We have been joined this month by a new tutor to Global English TESOL, Steve Button.
We've invited Steve to share something of his life and teaching background, so read on below...
"Hello everyone!
I started my EFL teaching career in London, before heading to Madrid for a while. I was then lucky enough to be working in Barcelona before, during and after the ’92 Olympics. One year I worked for Barcelona FC, teaching footballers’ wives by the pool, beneath palm trees. It was a hard life but someone had to do it.
Tiring of the permanent sunshine (?) I moved to Prague, initially for a year, but ended up staying for ten years.
During that period I worked as a Director of Studies at a large language school, Senior Teacher for Young Learners, examiner for Cambridge ESOL and for the past 18 years as a CELTA tutor. I have presented at EFL conferences and run training courses in the Czech Republic.
For the past 13 years I’ve been working back in the UK, setting up and running a teacher training centre as well as regular teaching. For the most part this teaching is designed to help students achieve the required levels of English to get onto their chosen university programmes.
I’m looking forward to working with you all at Global English TESOL."
Welcome Steve, it's great to have you with us!
