The EPIK / SMOE public-school programme places qualified native English speakers in Korean government schools - some of Asia's most sought-after teaching posts, recruited through Reach To Teach.

Programme:
EPIK (English Program in Korea), the government public-school scheme, placed with the support of Reach To Teach – a long-established, free-to-teachers placement agency with offices in Asia and the US.

Intakes:
Placements are most common at the end of August and the end of February each year; exact dates vary. Applications open several months ahead, so early preparation is essential. Minimum one-year contracts.
Hours:
Generally a 30–40 hour work week including teaching and office hours.
Pay, holidays and benefits:
Around 2,100,000–2,700,000 KRW per month, plus a settlement allowance, airfare reimbursement, free housing, severance pay, a renewal bonus, provided work visa, airport pickup, medical insurance, orientation and ongoing support from Reach To Teach.
Fees:
None – all agency services are free for teachers.
Qualifications and requirements:
A bachelor’s degree and citizenship of a recognised English-speaking country, plus a 100-hour or higher TEFL / TESOL certificate. Our accredited online TEFL / TESOL courses meet the requirement.
