Asia: Mongolia EFL Teachers - Mongolia
Teach English at a language centre in Ulaanbaatar on a one-year contract, an off-the-beaten-track destination with a warm welcome for foreign teachers.
Location: Ulaanbaatar
Position: EFL teacher, private language centre
Vacancies: Ongoing, with heavier recruitment around the autumn term
Contract: Typically 1 year
Hours / duties: Around 20–25 teaching hours a week with children, teenagers and adults, often including some evening and weekend classes.
Pay: Roughly US$875–1,400 a month (around £700–£1,100), which comfortably covers the low local cost of living.
Additional benefits: Some employers assist with accommodation, airfare or the work visa.
Qualifications and requirements
Minimum TESOL certificate: Any Global English TESOL qualification accepted.
Nationality: Native or fluent English speaker.
Other requirements: Many language centres will consider newly qualified teachers; a bachelor’s degree helps with the work permit and broadens your options.
Almost all of Mongolia’s teaching jobs are in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, where demand comes from private language centres and a small but growing international-school sector.
