Malaysia Language Centre English Teachers - Malaysia - Paid

Teach at a private language centre in Kuala Lumpur or another Malaysian city on a one-year contract, with young learners and adults across evening and weekend classes.

Location: Kuala Lumpur and other major Malaysian cities

Position: English teacher, private language centre / English school

Vacancies: Ongoing – language centres recruit throughout the year

Contract: Typically 1 year, renewable

Hours / duties: Around 20–25 teaching hours a week, often including evening and weekend classes, teaching a mix of young learners, teenagers and adults.

Pay: Roughly MYR 3,500–7,000 a month (around £600–£1,200), with hourly part-time rates commonly MYR 80–150.

Additional benefits: Visa sponsorship and flight or accommodation allowances vary by employer.

Qualifications and requirements

Minimum TESOL certificate: Any Global English TESOL qualification accepted.

Nationality: Native or fluent English speaker.

Other requirements: A bachelor’s degree is normally required for the employment (professional visit) pass; teaching experience is welcomed but entry-level applicants are considered by language centres.

Malaysia is an affordable, English-friendly hub with a low cost of living, and language centres are the most accessible entry point for newly qualified TEFL teachers.
