Asia: Laos Language Centre English Teachers - Laos
Teach English at a language centre in Vientiane, the relaxed capital of Laos, on a one-year contract with a low cost of living.
Location: Vientiane
Position: English teacher, private language centre
Vacancies: Ongoing throughout the year
Contract: Typically 1 year
Hours / duties: Around 20–25 teaching hours a week with young learners, teenagers and adults, often including some evening and weekend classes.
Pay: Roughly US$700–1,000 a month (around £550–£800), enough to live comfortably given the low local cost of living.
Additional benefits: Employers often assist with the work visa; some provide or subsidise accommodation.
Qualifications and requirements
Minimum TESOL certificate: A Global English TESOL qualification of at least 120 hours.
Nationality: Native or fluent English speaker.
Other requirements: A bachelor’s degree is generally expected for the work permit; teaching experience is preferred but new teachers are considered.
