Programme:
EPIK (English Program in Korea) – the South Korean government’s official public-school teaching scheme, run by the National Institute for International Education.

Intakes:
EPIK recruits twice a year, with main placements each spring (around February/March) and autumn (around August/September). Applications typically open several months ahead, so early planning is essential – the full process takes roughly four to six months.

In brief:
- Teach at elementary, middle or high school (depending on preference and placement).
- Working days: Monday to Friday, roughly 8:30am–4:30pm.
- Around 22 teaching classes per week.

Your role:
Teach conversational English to Korean students, prepare lessons and materials, assist with student evaluation and support English-language activities alongside your co-teacher.

Qualifications and requirements:
A three or four-year bachelor’s degree in any subject and a citizen of a recognised English-speaking country, plus a 100-hour or higher TEFL / TESOL / CELTA certificate. Our accredited 120-hour online TEFL / TESOL courses meet the EPIK requirement.
