EFL teachers wanted for an established school in Cuenca, Ecuador. Supportive, well-resourced teaching environment with a good local pay rate and enticing extra perks.
Country: Ecuador
Location: Cuenca - a UNESCO World Heritage city in the southern Andes.
Position: EFL teacher at an established language school with a supportive, well-resourced teaching environment.
Hours and contract: 15-20 contact hours per week, with opportunities for extra tutoring and conversation classes. Most classes run Monday to Saturday. Preference is given to teachers able to commit for a minimum of nine months. New teaching cycles start through the year, and teachers arrive a week early for orientation and to arrange accommodation.
Pay and benefits: A local hourly rate is paid, with a higher rate on Saturdays, and the cost of living is low. The school supports teachers with frequent workshops, curriculum shares and a well-stocked resource room, plus free Spanish classes, internet access and help finding accommodation in Cuenca. Optional low-cost health insurance is available, and the school sponsors an intercultural visa. Airfare and visa fees are the teacher's responsibility.
Requirements: Native or native-like English fluency and a university degree. Experience teaching a range of ages, plus pronunciation, speaking, listening and exam-preparation classes, is desirable.
Qualifications: A Global English TESOL qualification.
