Africa: Morocco EFL Teachers - Morocco
Established language-centre network across Morocco recruits EFL teachers for adult and young-learner classes in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech and Tangier. Degree plus a TEFL/TESOL certificate required.
Location: Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier and other Moroccan cities
Position: EFL teacher (language centre)
Vacancies: Ongoing – multiple centres recruit through the year
Contract: Typically renewable, aligned to the September school year
Start dates: Main intake from September, with rolling vacancies
Hours / duties: Teaching general English to adults and young learners across mixed-ability levels, with some exam and conversation classes.
Pay: Language-centre salaries typically 6,000–10,000 MAD per month (around £500–£820 / $600–$1,000). The low cost of living stretches this considerably, and university or international-school posts can pay more.
Additional benefits: Visa and residency support from the employer; some centres assist with initial accommodation.
Qualifications and requirements
Minimum TESOL certificate: Any Global English TESOL qualification accepted (120 hours preferred by the larger centres).
Nationality: Native or near-native English speaker (UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa).
Other requirements: A bachelor’s degree in any subject is required to obtain a work permit; teaching experience is welcomed but not always essential.
Morocco is one of North Africa’s most active markets for English teachers, with steady demand at private language centres in the main cities.
