Mother and Son Excel in TEFL Careers: Teaching in France
Quick answer: Timothy followed his mother into TEFL after watching her build a career teaching Business English in France. He took the 120-hour Global English Premier TESOL course around 2019 and now teaches English – including Business English – in France himself, continuing a genuine family TEFL career.

Key facts

  • Who: Timothy, following his mother into a TEFL career
  • Where: France
  • Course: 120-hour Level 3 TESOL Premier course, Global English TESOL, taken around 2019
  • Outcome: teaching English (including Business English) in France, alongside his mother’s own thriving TEFL career

A Shared Journey

Timothy's Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) journey started with his mother's decision to pursue a TEFL certification with Global English TESOL more than 10 years ago.

Witnessing her dedication and the impact she made as a Business English teacher inspired him to consider a similar path. With his mother's encouragement, he embarked on his own TEFL journey and today he enjoys teaching in France.

TEFL Certification

Timothy successfully completed his 120-hour Level 3 TESOL course with Global English around 2019. His Global English accredited course and internationally recognised TEFL certification equipped him with all the necessary skills and knowledge to teach English effectively. From lesson planning to classroom management, he gained invaluable insights into the art of teaching English to non-native speakers.

Success in France

France is known for its rich culture and high demand for English language education.
The government stipulates that French companies provide vocational training for staff and English is often what is chosen, hence the demand for Business English.

The French learn English at school but it is usually to pass an exam and so fluency is a real issue.

Success as a TEFL Teacher

Through dedication, perseverance, and the help of Global English TESOL, Timothy and his mother have built thriving TEFL careers that not only fulfil their own aspirations but also make a positive impact on the lives of their students in France.
