Travel and Teach
When teaching positions become available again, you will find that they are not often advertised outside Ukraine.
The private EFL industry has historically been is strong, as Ukraine chose to face west rather than east. Most of the teaching opportunities have come in the cities, particularly the country’s capital Kyiv, although there has been significant growth in summer camps, which focus on learning English. Much work is also taken by Ukrainian nationals with a good level of English and a TESOL qualification.
The situation regarding permits and visas can be quite complicated. In general to obtain a work permit you need to be invited to work by one of the schools. In the past, many schools that have advertised in the international press have offered to arrange visas prior to arrival.
Reputable recruitment agencies, chain schools and placement organisations have also been able to help arrange paperwork.
