Europe: Frontistiria English Teacher Greece - Greece

Teach English at a Greek frontistirio (private language school) - one of Europe's most accessible TEFL markets, hiring from abroad year-round for Global English TESOL graduates.

Teach English at a frontistirio in Greece

Greece is one of Europe's most accessible and rewarding places to start a teaching career. Private language schools, known as frontistiria, exist in almost every town and recruit English speakers each year to prepare students for international exams and everyday communication. Unlike public schools, frontistiria regularly hire teachers from outside Greece.

The role

  • Teaching general English and exam preparation to children, teenagers and adults
  • Working mainly afternoons and evenings (roughly 3pm to 10.30pm), when students attend after school
  • Small, motivated classes in a close-knit school community

Typically offered

  • A monthly salary generally in the region of €1,000–€1,500
  • Help with accommodation and settling into Greek life
  • Coursebooks, exam materials and teaching support

Requirements

  • A recognised 120-hour TEFL/TESOL qualification such as the Global English TESOL certificate
  • Fluent English and a positive, reliable manner
  • EU citizens can work freely; non-EU applicants will need the appropriate visa and work permit

Most hiring runs from mid-August to October, with a second intake in January. Apply through Global English to register your interest in current Greek frontistiria vacancies.

This position is only open to Global English graduates or trainees.
