Designed for Global English online TESOL trainees who are combining a 10 hour Teaching Practice course with their online course to meet the NET requirements for HK.
This teaching practice programme, when taken alongside the ACTDEC accredited Level 3 TESOL Premier course (120 hours), meets the criteria for eligibility for consideration for the HK EDB NET programme for Primary. It can be extended to 20 hours at no extra fee when taken alongside the Level 5 TESOL Professional Course (250 hours) for candidates seeking entry to become Secondary NETs.

Why this course?
The 10-hour Hong Kong Teaching Practice course is for NET candidates and is a unique programme that can be added on to any other Global English course to provide the necessary observed teaching practice to enter the HK NET scheme. It's flexible, the teaching hours can be increased if desired and we produce a final composite certificate (PDF) of your main course and observed TP, which is sent to you upon successful completion of the course.
How the course works
Upon registration for your main TESOL and the 10 hour teaching teaching practice programme, you'll have all the course details in your student area and can begin right away.
Documentation for the TP scheme is downloadable and you can discover more on the Course Content tab above. You source the location for your teaching practice near to you, which we certify.
Eligibility
Available to native English speaking teachers wishing to join the HK NET scheme. Note that it must be taken alongside another Global English TESOL course as the teaching practice and accredited TESOL training have to be from the same provider to be eligible for the NET scheme.
Finding a school or venue for your teaching practice
Most candidates will find schools or organisations in their area where they can volunteer teach for a few hours to fulfill the requirements of the programme. Some candidates will already be teaching in a language school setting and can undertake their TP there.

Your TP programme should consist of a minimum 10 hours class time.
Upon enrolment, log in to your student area, meet your personal tutor and view the forms ready for download:
Timesheet form – completed by you and signed by the sponsoring institution confirming your completion of 10 hours in-class time.
Observed Teaching Practice form - six hours of the above 10 must be you leading a class teaching English. This must be observed teaching practice. Again, to be completed by you and signed by the sponsoring institution. The remaining hours can consist of being a class assistant or observing a class (minimum of 2 students per class). Please note, home tutoring 1-1 cannot be included in this class since it is vital for the integrity of the programme that your TP experience is verifiable by a 3rd party.
Lesson plan template - sketch out a lesson plan for one of your lessons using a template we provide.
Self-evaluation form - submit a guided reflection on a lesson you have delivered. You will be assigned a Global English personal tutor for advice, guidance and who will also mark your self-evaluation.
Observation worksheet (optional) - use this when you are watching an experienced teacher in the classroom.

The content is well written and the course progressed in a way where feel I have learned more about teaching practice from this course than I did through my PGCE.
