At Global English TESOL we've been busy creating 20 ready-to-use worksheets for use in online English lessons with adult learners.
While they are ready to go, requiring minimal prep or planning, we thought you'd appreciate a demo so you can get the most out of them. Below you can:
* Watch a 3 min explanatory video. Louisa talks you through getting started with a worksheet on jobs.
* Download the PDF jobs worksheet for free.

It's not always necessary to use a warmer before using the worksheet
That's because with online 1-1 adult learners you generally have a quick chat at the front of a lesson to ‘warm them up.’ However, in the video, Louisa asks 3 work-related warmer questions:
* Do you like your job?
* What did you want to be when you were younger?
* Do you think being a waiter or waitress is a good job?
Top warmer tip: keep it moving – it is very easy to get sucked into these questions with a chatty student and not actually get on to the lesson.
---------------------
The worksheet starts with a job advertisement which we suggest your student read. The comprehension questions underneath are designed to check meaning and get your student into using some of the underlined target vocabulary.
Top vocabulary tip:
If they are not using the target underlined vocabulary when answering the questions, you can elicit with prompts.
E.g. ‘Yes, it is only 20-30 hour per week. We can say the job isn’t full time. Instead it’s…..?'
---------------------
Get your students to form questions. In question 2, they are the interviewer and have to form questions, using prompts like:
'Experience?'
Top tip for question formation:
If they struggle, let them do the whole exercise again for fluency. It can be powerful for students to hear themselves say something better the second time around.
