Accreditation - Where does my certificate come from? |
|
|
|
The investment you are about to make in your TESOL training is important.
After all, it's your money and you shouldn’t throw it away on courses that
have dubious or no accreditation. But how can you tell which course to
take when there are so many options?
This is where ACTDEC comes in. ACTDEC is the Accreditation Council
for TESOL Distance Education Courses, a non-profit making independent
body responsible for maintaining professional standards in TESOL distance
programmes. |
|
Good news for you... |
|
In the faceless world of the internet, ACTDEC gives reassurance that you won’t be ripped off by unscrupulous course providers. For example, all ACTDEC accredited providers like Global English have to adhere to a strict code of practice, and we are audited by the accrediting body to ensure that we are abiding by the code.
No other accrediting body rigorously audits course providers in this way. |
|
Good news for your employer... |
|
When you complete your course, will your certificate mean anything to an employer? If not, you’ve just
wasted your money. But on a Global English course, it is ACTDEC that issues your course certificate.
This means that it stands more chance of being recognised when you
go out to find a job. Employers can also check your qualification on
the ACTDEC Pass List, something that no other accrediting body does. |
|
And good news for the TESOL profession... |
|
ACTDEC is constantly looking to improve quality and standards in TESOL Distance learning. So you’ll see ACTDEC at international conferences such as IATEFL. And they only accredit TESOL courses – so you know that they are specialists in what they do.
Some course providers ‘guarantee’ you a job. Be careful of these – you might end up working somewhere you don’t want to be. But with an
ACTDEC certificate, you'll have more chance of
being able to choose where you go and what
you teach, rather than ‘being placed’.
So when you have shopped around, we’re sure you’ll
come back to
choose
a Global English course,
backed by a certificate you can trust – from ACTDEC. |

Choosing a course provider
You need to know that your course provider is reputable, and is going to still be in operation when you finish your course.
Global English was the first ISO 9000 accredited distance learning TESOL organisation.
This means that our quality systems and procedures are audited each year. ISO is an international company standard, acknowledged over 100 countries worldwide. It recognises our commitment to an exceptional quality of service for our students, year in, year out.
Global English is one of the only international Distance Learning EFL course providers to give its students this guarantee, backed up by an independently monitored company standard.
