My name is William and I am Director of Studies here at Global English.

I came to Global English in 1996 after several years in English in Mexico, Portugal and the UK both as a teacher and a language school manager. What drew me to the post was the aim the company has of trying to help prospective TEFL teachers get into the profession with a course that was as practical as possible on paper and was designed to be of real use in the classroom.

Global English is very focused. We specialise in the entry level Certificate in TEFL and take pride in trying to make every student feel valued. I am also head tutor, meaning that I get to talk to a lot of students every day about their courses, which is the most enjoyable part of my job.

It is very important to keep up to date with the latest developments in TEFL. I am a member of IATEFL and I review TEFL websites and material sent by publishers to make sure that our course content is current and relevant.

I live in England now and I must admit that I miss the long hot days of the Mediterranean summers teaching English in Portugal! But there is a great deal of pleasure to be had in knowing that through the courses I mark I am helping others to enjoy similar experiences to mine, as Global English graduates travel far and wide to start teaching.
