Global English takes pride in the quality of both feedback and support we provide our students. Here is what the ACTDEC auditor said about our tutor feedback:

‘I was very impressed with the both the quality and quantity of tutor feedback, some of which was very detailed and thorough. Responses to some of the exam questions in particular were, I felt, extremely generous in terms of the time and effort that tutors must have gone to. Tutors were uniformly able to provide answers which clearly responded to each individual student and the specific answer they had given (rather than a more bland generalisation). On many occasions, tutor feedback consisted of both a direct response to student content and then showed the student how their answer could be improved. Feedback contained many useful nuggets of information which were clearly based on the tutors’ own experience in the classroom. The tone of tutor feedback was also effective – friendly and personable while remaining professional, which is clearly important when studying on a distance learning course of this kind.

While many students were clearly coping well with course and exam work, tutors appeared not to shy away from awarding lower marks for answers which were less effective. However, it was good to see that weaker students were also being offered a little more assistance: for example, being offered the chance to resubmit answers that were lacking in detail and quality. This seems to be an excellent approach and geared towards development rather than simply a test of what students have learned.

On the whole, assessment of coursework and exam answers was fair and accurate, and as already mentioned, included a high level of detail with much useful information for the student.’
