Meet Global English

Louisa Walsh, BSc, RSA Cert TEFL - Course Director

Hello. I am Louisa Walsh and I started Global English in 1996 to develop flexible and cost -effective TESOL courses. My aim with Global English is to provide you with the best quality online courses available and offer specialist courses for today's teacher. I'm really proud of our course range and our ACTDEC and ISO accreditations which underline this commitment to excellence.

Thousands of new TESOL teachers have started their careers with one of our courses and are teaching all around the world
; in language schools, companies, creating language businesses, writing resource books and teaching by phone or online. So where will you go?

We have been so touched by the mission and the integrity of the Amigos charity that 10% of our profits go directly to supporting this worthwhile organisation in Uganda. So when you take a course you'll know you are helping make a difference. Do visit our Amigos charity pages to read more about this and see other ways you can help.

Teaching English can be enormously rewarding but researching all the various options can be a daunting task. We hope our website and our Global Village pages in particular help you make an informed choice about your next step. Our aim is to offer the best courses and service we possibly can. Below you can meet the professional team at Global English who help to ensure this happens. Click on a picture for more information.

Why Global English? Just some of the reasons our students like what we do...

1) Our tutors provide highly personalised and individual responses to your work. Indeed, this one of the most highly acclaimed items on the appraisal forms written by our TEFL graduates. This means you get maximum support as you learn and we can better guide you to becoming more successful in the classroom.
2) Our support is ongoing and does not end when you submit your final module so whether you want advice on your TEFL CV or some coaching ahead of an interview, or if you simply need a bit of help and inspiration, you can contact us personally and we are always happy to help. You can also contact a growing number of our graduates directly.
3) We have kept the cost of our courses down. We provide all the features you would expect yet our courses still offer excellent value when compared to other similarly accredited distance courses of  100 hours +. We have a split payment facility to make our courses even more accessible.
4) 10% of our profits go to support the Amigos charity. Your money will go to help sustain indigenous teachers in their vital role training and empowering the new generation of Ugandans. We believe we are the only online TEFL course provider to share our income in this way. Find out more here >>

We regularly attend exhibitions where we meet new and former students - click here to take a look at our exhibition at the Language Show in Olympia, November 2008.
