Hello. I am Louisa Walsh and I started Global English in 1996 after teaching in both Portugal and the UK.

My aim with Global English was to provide a real alternative to the TEFL courses that were on the market when I completed mine. Firstly, our courses had to be flexible so that busy people could start them when they wanted and complete them in their own time. They had to be affordable and most of all they had to be courses of quality that would prove to be a really strong foundation for teaching in the classroom.

I am pleased to say our graduates tell us we have largely succeeded in our aims, judging by their responses to our course appraisal questionnaires. Our ISO award and course accreditation by ACTDEC should assure you that our courses and service levels are world-class.

Teaching English can be enormously rewarding but researching all the various options can be a daunting task. We hope our website and our Global Village pages in particular, help you make an informed choice about your next step.

We provide all the features you would expect yet our courses still offer excellent value when compared to other similarly accredited distance courses of  150 hours +. We have recently added a split payment facility to make our courses even more accessible.
